2/9/2008 Valentine's Dinner
The 3rd annual Valentine's dinner was held on Saturday February 9th.  We had a wonderful turnout for the event.  A dinner of Baked Spaghetti, Lasagna, Pork Roast, Garden Salad and various desserts was served at 6:30pm.  Following dinner Chuck read about the true meaning and beginning of Valentine's Day, and then fun was had by all ages with the games that Jamie and Tonya presented.  The event was a wonderful night of Christian fellowship and fun.  We thank all of the church family that helped make this event a success and look forward to next year!!

3/3/2008 Youth Group
The younger youth group(Nursery thru 4th grade)enjoyed a trip to the Newport Aquarium for the aquarium's first ever Faith weekend.  The area churches greatly supported the event and the Aquarium was very crowded.  We took 12 members of our church family to the event.  We lunched at Johnny Rocket's at the Levee and the adults and children had a great time of fellowship and adventure.  With the success of this trip we hope to plan more events for this age group in the near future and thank the church for their support of youth activities.

4/21/2008 Youth Group

Friday April 18th the Youth Group attended "AA Talks", a mission report and concert presented by some of the members of the group Audio Adrenaline.  The event was hosted by Bridges Christian Chruch in Russell.  Following the concert the group enjoyed fun, fellowship and pizza at the Russell Giovanni's.  The church would like to thank Corie for organizing the trip and driving the van.

4/3/2008 Youth Service

We had a wonderful Youth service on Sunday night March 30th with approximately 80 to 100 people in attendance.  The Drama Team presented several skits and the preschool/kindergarten age youth group sang a couple of songs.  Jamie presented a very interesting video about witnessing.  The ladies of the church treated us to hot dogs and desserts in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.  We were blessed to have many visitors including the youth group from the Argillite Nazarene church with us.  The church would like to thank the Drama team, Youth group and leaders and the members of the congregation for all of the hard work that helped make the service such a success.

5/23/2008 Ladies Tea
The 3rd annual Ladies Tea was held Saturday May the 10th.  The turnout was wonderful with about 35 ladies and children in attendance.  The Willing Hearts group prepared the food and the program and several ladies donated items for door prizes.  As this event grows each year we are blessed with wonderful Christian fellowship and new friendships!

8/2/2007 Prayers Answered!!!

Isn't it just like God to answer our prayers in His time and in His way.

After VBS the church was interested in starting a bus ministry.  We had considered 15 passenger vans, but the insurance was so expensive that we began to seek alternatives.  A local church had a mini-bus that was available but once everything (insurance, CDL licensing, mileage) was considered, it was determined this would not be a solution either.  Then after service on Wednesday night (8/1/07) some of the men from Three Mile Baptist Church arrived on our parking lot with a gift.  Their church had just purchased a new van and they wanted to donate their previous van to us.  Praise God for His Blessings!

We ask everyone to help us pray that we will be able to fill the van with kids and adults needing a way to church.  We are excited about the doors that God is opening for our church.  We want to step through those doors so that we may see other come to know him.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
